Occasion: 50th Anniversary of the Mobile Library Service of Rijeka City Libray and The Day of Croatian Bibliobuses - June 9th (in celebration of the day when the mobile library service first got organized) in Rijeka in 1969 Topics: Moving Culture - Culture on the Move Role of mobile library service in the pursuit of Agenda goals 2030 Objectives of the Conference: - to emphasize the importance of the mobile library service activities within the network of public libraries, particularly in the light of the new Legislation on Libraries and Library Profession
- to stimulate the development of existing ones, as well as to establish new services in the counties still lacking them and reminding public of the continuity of the Croatian mobile library services with special emphasis on those with the longest tradition: Rijeka City Library – 50 years; Koprivnica City Library "Fran Galović" - 40 years; Čakovec City Library "Nikola Zrinski" – 40 years; Križevci City Library "Franjo Marković" – 10 years
- present international experiences and establish partnerships
- familiarizing the public and the media with Croatian and foreign mobile library services, and interesting aspects of library activities they provide within the community
- maintaing the regularity of the professional gathering and presentation of the services of mobile libraries in order to improve their work and publicity
Method of work: Festival of bibliobuses with accompanying program, invited lectures, submitted presentations, poster display, debate. Program In order to attend the Roundtable Discussion and the Festival the applicaton must be filled out. After filling the application Rijeka City Library will issue the receipt for registration fees. Registration fee: 200,00 HRK (including: working materials, dinner, refreshments and snacks during breaks and the participation certificate). Deadline for participation: May 1st, 2019 Deadline for payment of the registration fee: May 10th, 2019 Accommodation Terms of stay: one overnight (June 7th – 8th, 2019) or two overnights (June 6th – 8th, 2019) Hotel Continental ***, A.K. Miošića Šetalište 1 Price per room and day based on bed and breakfast service (discount included): Single room standard: 467,00 HRK Double standard room: 584,00 HRK Residence tax and insurance: additional 10,00 + 1,00 HRK per person and per day Hotel Neboder ***, Strossmayerova 1 Price per room and day based on bed and breakfast service (discount included): Single room standard: 455,00 HRK Double standard room: 570,00 HRK Residence tax and insurance: additional 10,00 + 1,00 kn per person and per day Note: Participants have to contact the hotel directly with an exception of those whose payments have been covered by the organizer. Travel cancellation costs: Up to 30 days prior to arrival, the hotel does not charge for canceled services. From 30 to 15 days prior to arrival the hotel has the right to claim 30% of the amount. From 15 to 3 days prior to arrival the hotel has the right to claim 50% of the amount. From 3 to 0 days prior to arrival or in the case of no-show, the hotel charges 100% of the total amount. DEADLINE: April 15th, 2019. After that date, the room will be booked according to availability. Application is valid upon the payment of the registration fee.
