IFLA / MLAS Workshop 2011 Building a strong library associations and establishing a model for future cooperation

IFLA / MLAS Workshop 2011 for library associations in Central and South East European Region – Building a strong library associations and establishing a model for future cooperation - will be organized in collaboration with Croatian Library Association (CLA). (Free of charge) MLAS Workshop will include presentations, panels and discussions on how we can build strong library associations in the targeted region, the importance of regional communication and cooperation, fundraising and library advocacy practice. Discussions will focus on different library association advocacy experiences in Central and South East European Region and how to establish successful model for future cooperation.
We expect representatives from the national library associations of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia and Macedonia and also some representatives of the national associations from other European countries, members of expert reference group working on the Building Strong Library Associations Programme and members of IFLA MLAS Standing Committee who will deliver content from the BSLA program as well as discuss their own experiences with the regional attendees. Librarians across the region are invited to join workshop and to share their experiences and knowledge of working in library associations (free of charge).
