Commission for Green Libraries was established in Split in 2014 with the aim of
establishing a network of libraries according to the existing form of the "Green
Library Project" of the Association of Istria librarians, which exists since 2011 (www.zk.dbi.hr<http://www.zk.dbi.hr>), with purpose to take part in education of general public and raise awareness about importance of sustainable society as well as to advocate for environmental protection through libraries and library associations. In addition to this segment, the working group is dealing with issues of energy efficiency in libraries.
