The International Scientific Conference Protection of Cultural Heritage from Natural and Man-made Disasters
8 – 10 May 2014, Zagreb and Šibenik, Croatia

The purpose of this conference is to bring together the most eminent experts and specialistsin the field of the protection of cultural heritage, representatives of the academic community andadministrative bodies of institutions, local and state governments, as well as the owners of private collections, with the aim of the development of strategy for the protection of cultural heritage from natural andman-made disasters and the formulation of a proposal for introducing amendments to the existing legislation.

The key themes of multi-disciplinary expertise will be covered:
Identification of objects and collections
Risks
Legislation
Methods and techniques of protection
Management in cases of emergencies
Examples of best practice

This scientific conference will give the opportunity to present recent achievements and at the same time providing a strategic perspective on future directions.
The conference program will present research in plenary sessions with specific break-out sessions allowing in-depth discussions and poster presentations.
